AT&T Creates a Buzz in Anaheim with Unveiling of Major Local Network Upgrades

AT&T has revealed critical upgrades it has installed at the Anaheim Switch Center -- one of four major switch centers in Southern California. The upgrades will ensure access to state-of-the-art technologies in mobile broadband communications throughout Anaheim allowing data to be delivered at 4X AT&T’s current high-speed rate.*

"We are investing heavily in Anaheim -- one of the largest and most dynamic cities in California -- because we recognize that our customers here need the highest quality wireless service to take advantage of all the capabilities of today’s mobile broadband devices,” said Richard Porras, AT&T Senior Vice President. "It is our highest priority to ensure that our network enhancements are keeping pace with the growing needs of businesses, government entities and individuals.”

AT&T’s advanced network provides several important advantages for customers. Unlike some competitors, AT&T’s mobile-broadband network provides customers with the ability to talk and surf the web at the same time. For instance, you can look up directions to an event while still talking on the phone, or browse your favorite social media sites while chatting with a friend. AT&T’s mobile broadband network nationally is up to 35 percent faster than its largest competitor’s CDMA-based network on average.

AT&T** provides access to voice service in more than 220 countries and data service in more than 200 countries. AT&T’s largest competitor’s CDMA-based devices work in fewer than 45 countries. Business Traveler magazine recently named AT&T as having the "Best Mobile Coverage in the World” – the fourth time AT&T has received the distinction.

AT&T also operates the nation’s largest Wi-Fi network with more than 23,000 hotspots in the U.S., including several in Anaheim***.
