Tennessee American Water announced today that results published in the
company’s 2010 Water Quality Report indicate that drinking water quality
in its service areas are better than the standards set by the U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) and Tennessee Department of
Environment and Conservation (TDEC). Customers are receiving the report
with their April water bill.
"We are pleased to report that the water supplied to our customers is of
higher quality than required by state and federal drinking water
standards,” said Deron Allen, president of Tennessee American Water.
"Our team of water professionals works hard everyday to ensure the
highest quality product for our customers. These results are a testament
to their dedication.”
The annual report is a performance measure of the quality of water
supplied by Tennessee American Water compared to the compliance
standards established by the U.S. EPA and TDEC. The report describes
drinking water sources, testing conducted on the water, substances
detected and the levels of those substances. Commonly asked questions
and answers concerning drinking water are also included.
