Avnet Electronics Marketing and Opnext Ink Americas Distribution Agreement

The Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas business region of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE:AVT) and Opnext, Inc. (NASDAQ:OPXT), a global leader in the design and manufacturing of optical modules and components, have signed a distribution franchise agreement. Under the terms of this agreement, Avnet will distribute Opnext’s line of optical products in the Americas.

Established in 2000, and formed out of Hitachi Ltd., Opnext provides customers with more than 30 years of proven design and development experience in the high performance components and optoelectronic devices market. Opnext products are used in communications, information technologies, and industrial market applications – including laser technologies and laser diodes that light up some of the world’s most advanced transmission technology devices.
