The Risk Control unit of CNA insurance companies recently announced the July Webinar series for its School of Risk Control Excellence. Crisis Management for Disasters – July 20

When natural disasters strike, healthcare organizations should be prepared to manage the safety and well-being of patients and the organization. During this program, experienced risk control professionals will highlight ways that a healthcare organization can assess its current ability to respond effectively, and detail strategies that can be implemented to better manage related risks. Insurance coverages, risk control assessment/vulnerability analysis and strategies for preparation, response and recovery from natural disasters will be discussed.

ASHRM continuing education credits are available for this webinar; however, to receive credit, you must call in individually. Attendees not wishing to obtain ASHRM credits may call in groups.

Risk Management Issues in Dentistry – July 21

Risk management in dentistry doesn’t have to be complex or difficult. In this fast-paced course, you will learn 25 painless ways to improve your dental practice’s risk profile from John Vaselaney, D.D.S., CNA’s dental risk management resource. Included will be clinical, recordkeeping, and patient management tips that help to improve patient care and reduce the chance of an adverse event.

HealthPro: Unintended Consequences of Medical Technology – July 27

Emerging healthcare technologies are expected to continually revolutionize the healthcare delivery system, vastly improving the ability to screen, diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions, including cancer, cardiovascular disease and diabetes. This session will explore select technologies and treatments that exemplify a new paradigm for healthcare technology and identify strategies to use for managing the associated, and often unintended, risks.
