Ultimate RewardsSM, Chase’s proprietary, world-class rewards program, today announced its annual holiday promotion designed to deliver great value to cardmembers throughout the holiday season. From now through the end of the year, Chase Freedom®, Chase Sapphire? and Ink? from Chase cardmembers with Ultimate Rewards can take advantage of special promotions, including merchandise auctions, redemption discounts, exclusive experiences and receive bonus points for shopping with select retailers online through ultimaterewards.com. In addition, Chase Freedom cardmembers can redeem their cash back rewards for gift cards from many popular retailers including Kohl’s, Banana Republic and Barnes and Noble.

The Ultimate Rewards promotion includes:

  • Holiday Merchandise Auctions
    Every weekday from November 1 through November 25, Chase Freedom, Chase Sapphire and Ink from Chase cardmembers can use reward points to bid on popular holiday gifts, such as PlayStation3, Samsung Galaxy Tab, and Sony HDTV. Bidding will start at just one reward point.
  • Ultimate Rewards Mall Promotion
    From November 15 through December 12, Chase Freedom, Chase Sapphire and Ink from Chase cardmembers who shop online through ultimaterewards.com will earn up to 10 extra rewards points for every dollar spent at select merchants.
  • Cyber Monday Merchandise Redemption Sale
    Chase Freedom, Chase Sapphire and Ink from Chase cardmembers who choose to use their reward points to shop for merchandise on ultimaterewards.com on Cyber Monday (November 28) will save 25 percent. Chase hosted a similar promotion last season, which drew a 300 percent increase in the number of merchandise items redeemed that day.
  • NY Jets, NY Giants Sponsorships
    Chase is now a sponsor of both the New York Jets and New York Giants, giving cardmembers the opportunity to use their points through Ultimate Rewards for great access to Jets and Giants home games including pre-game field passes and private box tickets.

    Chase Freedom cardmembers will receive 10 or 20 percent off select gift cards redeemed through Ultimate Rewards by visiting www.ultimaterewards.com/great. Discounted gift cards will be available from now through January 4.

Tracking Consumer Holiday Shopping Trends

While the 2011 overall retail growth numbers are projected to fall below 3 percent this year, online consumer spend last season grew at double digit rates. Chase Paymentech, the payment processing division of JPMorgan Chase, will be tracking this and other consumer shopping trends for 50 of the leading U.S. online retailers. The Chase Paymentech Pulse Index will provide an inside look at consumer ecommerce spending trends for the key Black Friday and Cyber Monday days, then throughout the holiday season. The Pulse Index provides daily settlement activity by measuring payment transactions, dollar volume and average ticket value in near real time – providing comparative online shopping statistics for the 2011 holiday shopping season.
