Comcast Corporation, the nation’s leading provider of entertainment,

that Cathy Avgiris has been promoted to Executive Vice President and
General Manager of the Data and Communications group. A nearly
twenty-year veteran of Comcast, Avgiris leads all aspects of the
Company’s Xfinity Internet and Xfinity Voice services, including the
Company’s groundbreaking Internet Essentials program, which provides
low-cost Internet service to low-income families. In addition, she is
responsible for introducing the new Double and Triple Play consumer
offers with Verizon Wireless as well as for the Company’s Wi-Fi service.
She reports to Dave Watson, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating
Officer, Comcast Cable.

In 2010, Avgiris was awarded one of the cable industry's most
prestigious honors, the Vanguard Award for "Distinguished Leadership”
for Cable Operations Management by the National Cable &
Telecommunications Association. She has been recognized as one of CableFAX’s
"Most Powerful Women in Cable” every year since 2006. In 2007, she was
recognized as a "Wonder Woman” by Multichannel News. She also has
been honored with the Women in Cable Telecommunication’s "Liberty
Award,” a "Woman Worth Watching” by Profiles in Diversity Journal,
and was named one of the "Top 15 Women in Business” by PINK Magazine,
a national magazine for professional women. Avgiris is a member of the
Forum for Executive Women and is a graduate of Baruch College. Avgiris
holds a B.A. in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant in New
York and Pennsylvania.
