Fiery Solutions
At PRINT 09, EFI will launch the most advanced Fiery software,
delivering processing speeds up to 70 percent faster than the prior
generation to ensure customers get the most from their digital print
production engines and can increase the productivity of their employees.
The company will also make an announcement about new Fiery JDF
integration developments.
Fiery Command WorkStation® 5 (CWS5) software, the recognized industry
standard for production printing job management technology that serves
as the window into the entire printing workflow, and the Fiery SeeQuence
Suite of make-ready tools will be featured in the EFI booth. Also on
display are Fiery production workflow and color management tools, Fiery
Central and EFI Color Profiler Suite, as well as the EFI MicroPress® RIP
and production workflow solution. A live JDF demonstration will show the
workflow from EFI’s web-to-print platform to EFI MIS systems to a
Fiery-driven output device.
Digital Inkjet Printers
EFI will be demonstrating their award-winning UV superwide printers and
inks. The VUTEk GS5000r and VUTEk GS3200 UV-curing printers will be on
display, with connectivity to Fiery XF, the EFI BestColor®-driven
production workflow and color management solution.
The 5-meter roll-to-roll VUTEk GS5000r combines enhanced
point-of-purchase quality with stunning billboard production speeds up
to 3100 square feet per hour. The VUTEk GS3200’s versatility expands the
reach of superwide printing into new industries and applications with
breakthrough speed and incredible photorealistic quality in the same
printer. With its dual resolution print capability of 600 dpi and 1000
dpi, the GS3200 produces eye-catching graphics in 8-color plus white
mode at speeds up to 1200 square feet per hour, and in its Fast-5™ mode
with speeds up to 2400 square feet per hour. Additionally, Pitman
Company will showcase the VUTEk QS2000 in their booth – the QS2000 is a
flatbed and roll-to-roll UV printer that delivers superior
high-definition print quality and enhanced productivity that extends
print providers’ capabilities and profitability.
EFI will also demonstrate the Rastek H650 and T660 wide-format printers.
The Rastek H650 is an affordably-priced wide-format printer that prints
CMYK plus white in grayscale resolutions up to 600 dpi and in a binary
resolution mode that prints at 1200x900 dpi. The Rastek H650 can handle
roll or rigid media up to 1.8 inches thick and has an image print width
of 64 inches. The Rastek T660 is the ideal wide-format system for
tapping into new markets and new revenue streams, capable of printing on
substrates up to 60 inches wide and 2 inches thick with sellable speeds
up to 200 square feet per hour and 1200 x 900 dpi.
In addition to these superwide and wide-format printers, EFI will
demonstrate the Jetrion 4000 and display samples from the soon to be
announced revolutionary new digital label printer. The Jetrion 4000 UV
Inkjet System offers label converters an affordable, full-color narrow
web alternative to toner-based digital printers for label runs of up to
50,000 labels. With speeds of up to 100 feet per minute at more than
1000 dpi with grayscale technology, the Jetrion 4000 delivers full-color
label printing up to 5.5 inches wide.
Advanced Professional Print Software
EFI’s line-up of industry-leading print MIS, web-to-print and proofing
and production solutions will be on display in the EFI booth as well as
various partner booths. The company will launch Web Control Center, a
web-based application that connects, monitors and controls proofing and
production printing at all remote sites in a production workflow. EFI
will also debut a new browser-based version of the PrintFlow® dynamic
scheduling solution that will bring visibility and control to customers
from any Internet connection.
Besides these launches, EFI will highlight the newest versions of its
MIS solutions, including EFI Monarch (a 2009 "Encore Worth-a-Look”
winner in the Must See ‘em award program), EFI Pace, EFI PrintSmith™,
and EFI Auto-Count® Direct Machine Interface. The web-to-print platform
EFI Digital StoreFront (also a 2009 "Encore Worth-a-Look” winner) will
be on display in several locations in the EFI booth, including the
end-to-end production workflow area highlighting a JDF digital workflow
with Fiery, and a digital inkjet workflow showing web-to-print to
production with the VUTEk GS3200.
EFI will show the entry-level software RIP for Proofing to Go, EFI
eXpress, and the versatile EFI Colorproof™ XF solution for proofing,
large-format production and photographic printing. The production
printing solution EFI Fiery XF will be on display, as well as the
