Eclipsys Corporation® (NASDAQ:ECLP), The Outcomes Company®,
today announced upcoming highlights for its 2009 Eclipsys User Network
(EUN) Outcomes Conference, October 14-17 in Dallas, TX. The EUN
conference creates an annual forum of thousands of Eclipsys user
representatives from world-renown healthcare systems, including 40
percent of "America’s Best Hospitals,” according to the U.S. News &
World Report’s 2009 ranking. The elite community of Eclipsys users also
represents 45 percent of all organizations accepted into the Magnet
Recognition Program®, which recognizes health care organizations that
provide nursing excellence.
New this year to EUN is an executive leadership agenda to provide
details of Eclipsys’ American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA)
programs, including special available financing, the company’s
ARRA-HITECH warranty and a preview of the Sunrise Enterprise™ 5.5
solution, slated as Eclipsys’ ARRA 2011 Certified EHR (electronic health
record) Technology.
With more than 160 sessions scheduled over the course of four days, this
year’s EUN also will feature new Oncology, Pediatrics, and Academic
specialty tracks, reflecting the fact that Eclipsys offers some of the
most advanced computerized physician order entry (CPOE) functionality in
the market, including support for complicated treatment plans
commonplace in oncology and pediatric care environments. Eclipsys was
cited in the KLAS CPOE Digest 2009: Meaningful Use and Physician
Adoption report (KLAS CPOE Digest 2009) issued by KLAS Enterprises, Inc.
(KLAS), as having invested more time and effort in building an oncology
extension into its clinical information system than other companies due
to its physician adoption formula.
Other key highlights at the 2009 Eclipsys EUN Outcomes Conference
include:
-
A company update from Eclipsys President and CEO, Phil Pead;
-
An overview of the freely available Eclipsys Outcomes Toolkits, which
support Eclipsys client collaboration and sharing of best practices
for care, including the company’s HINI Toolkit developed in April 2009;
-
Physician practice sessions focused on the company’s PeakPractice™
Ambulatory EHR solution.
Superiority in CPOE Positions Eclipsys Clients Well for ARRA
"Meaningful Use” Requirements
"Eclipsys users are an elite group of healthcare providers that benefit
from our company’s 30 years of unmatched, continuous evolution in CPOE
capabilities, and as such, we believe our clients perform at a higher
level in terms of quality and outcomes,” said Jay Deady, Eclipsys’
executive vice president of Client Solutions. "In fact, based on
publicly available data from the U.S. Department of Health and Human
Services Hospital Compare site, Eclipsys clients rank No. 1 in composite
performance across all Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services
Quality Measures. That data reinforces our client community’s increased
ability to affect positive patient outcomes and offer a safer clinical
environment. As ARRA ‘meaningful use’ requirements are expected to
become more advanced in 2013 and 2015, we believe our clinical
solution’s open architecture and highly complex clinical decision
support capabilities will continue to bring even more value to Eclipsys
clients and the patients they serve.”
The Eclipsys EHR solution, Sunrise Clinical Manger™, has garnered
widespread clinician adoption and has been recognized by KLAS as one of
the industry’s leading electronic records solutions. The system’s
capabilities are expected to advance a healthcare enterprise to
"meaningful use” status in time to comply with ARRA requirements.
Integrated with a comprehensive offering of enterprise applications, the
solution maximizes electronic health record benefits by offering
interoperable, fully connected care. According to the KLAS CPOE Digest
2009 report, Eclipsys CPOE solutions are used by more physicians in more
hospitals than any other vendor systems. The company also continues to
have the highest physician satisfaction from clients who use its system,
and on average, highly customizable ordering capabilities allow a
physician to order faster than any other CPOE solution on the market.
