Entel, the leading Chilean mobile operator with more than six million
users, has selected Comverse to deliver visual voicemail to mobile
handsets and PCs.
Instead of dialing in for messages, Entel’s subscribers will receive
their voicemail as multimedia messages (MMS) on their handsets. Users
then click to hear the voice messages and can respond immediately to the
caller by clicking to reply.
For subscribers in front of a computer at home or in an office, Entel
now is offering voicemail to email. Users receive their voice messages
as attachments to email messages, clicking to hear messages in any order
they want. Just like email, users also can save, forward, or delete
messages.
"In these fast-paced times, our users want ways to handle their voice
messages quickly,” said Alfredo Albetman, Manager of Value Added
Services for the Consumer Market at Entel. "The appealing visual
voicemail services that we are deploying significantly improve the user
experience, enabling our subscribers for the first time to choose what
suits them best.”
"Visual voicemail is winning warm acceptance in every corner of the
world,” said Dror Bin, President of Global Sales at Comverse, the
world's leading supplier of software and systems enabling value-added
messaging and content services, converged billing and active customer
management, and IP communications.
"Both Voicemail to Email and Voicemail to MMS align with key consumer
trends and preferences, and the increases they generate in the number of
people using voicemail, depositing messages, and returning calls after
listening to their messages translate into significant and sustainable
new revenue potential for operators,” Bin said.
The visual voicemail market leader, Comverse has more than two-thirds of
commercial deployments worldwide. Upon deployment, many operators have
reported that the average revenue per user (ARPU) for voicemail services
has increased 30 to 50 percent.
Comverse Visual Voicemail is part of the Comverse HUB Value-Added
Services, which spans voice, messaging, mobile Internet and mobile
advertising. Comverse HUB is a synergistic framework that enables
service providers to maximize their business performance and augment
their position in the market.
