Great Wolf Resorts, Inc.®
(NASDAQ: WOLF), North
America’s largest family of indoor waterpark resorts, today celebrates
the opening of its first, freestanding Scooops® Kid Spa at
the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minn. The official two-hour grand
opening celebration will commence Saturday, Aug. 14 at 11 a.m. with the
Pink Carpet Premiere, featuring a literal pink carpet, sampling, prizes
and more.
The ice cream-themed spa officially opened its doors today and offers
manicures, pedicures and hair treatments, specially designed for
children ages 4 to 15. Featuring whimsical wall murals, ice-cream-cone
stools, and oversized banana split pedicure thrones, Scooops Kid Spa is
the ideal setting for celebrating youth’s big milestones. From birthday
parties to those occasional "just because” treats, where else could you
get a pedicure while sitting atop a giant banana split? Originally found
in Great Wolf Lodge® locations across the country, the
largest and only free-standing Scooops Kid Spa – spelled with three
"o’s” representing the popular ice cream flavors of chocolate,
strawberry and vanilla – is now conveniently located at the Mall of
America.
"When we were looking to take Scooops Kid Spa beyond our indoor
waterpark locations, it didn’t take long to recognize that Mall of
America has a family-focused philosophy similar to our own,” said Tim
Black, Executive Vice President of Operations for Great Wolf Resorts.
"This location was a natural extension for the Great Wolf Resorts family
of brands.”
Larger than any other existing Scooops Kid Spa, the Mall of America
location can cater to more than 30 children at one time. The addition of
a hair salon and party rooms have made this Scooops Kids Spa
one-of-a-kind in the Great Wolf Resorts family. The spa, which features
more than 2,600 square feet of salon, spa and retail space, can also
cater to groups with themed party rooms, group spa experiences and
family packages designed to "scooop” loads of fun into any celebration
or special occasion.
The two-hour Pink Carpet Premiere will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug.
14 at the North Garden entrance to Mall of America’s Nickelodeon
Universe, under the ferris wheel. Children can walk down the pink carpet
in style with the signature Scooops Kid Spa robe and their very own
tiara. In addition to sampling the spa’s delicious chocolate,
strawberry, and vanilla lotions, attendees will have the chance to win
giveaways from Radio Disney and Scooops Kid Spa, including an ice
cream-themed manicure and pedicure, a dessert-scented haircut or a
goodie bag full of sweet-scented products.
Scooops Kid Spa will delight the senses and provide a memorable
experience for children and parents alike. For more information about
