Great Wolf Resorts, Inc. ®
(NASDAQ: WOLF),
North America’s largest family of indoor waterparks, is bursting at the
seams with new features and amenities at its Great Wolf Lodge®
resorts from coast-to-coast that promise to make summer 2010 at the
Lodge sizzle with excitement.
Not only has Great Wolf Resorts invested in brand-new waterslides and
slide enhancements in select waterparks nationwide, but it has also
added a variety of new kid-centric activities and amenities to many of
its properties, including Compass Quest™ – the next
generation of the popular MagiQuest® game, the new "Picture
Perfect Summer” activity program, and improvements and enhancements to
one of the resorts’ Scooops® Kid Spas.
"We’re delighted to introduce so many new amenities and activities that
help us do what we at Great Wolf Lodge have always set out to do – put
family and fun first,” said Tim Black, executive vice president of
operations. "We’re in the business of investing in families, and I can’t
think of a better way to accomplish this goal than to add new and
improved ways families can have fun and make memories together.”
The debut of the newest and cutest wolf character, Violet, and the
exciting introduction of www.greatwolfkids.com
– an animated, interactive website complete with car games, themed
activities, and downloadable coloring pages – are just the beginning of
the exciting new additions Great Wolf has in store for its guests this
summer.
Here’s what else Great Wolf Lodge visitors can expect at properties
across the country:
New Waterslides Loaded with Special Effects
Six Great Wolf properties are the recipients of new waterslide
experiences for their indoor waterparks. At the Pocono Mountains location
in Pennsylvania, guests are already lining up to try out the new "Double
Barrel Drop™,” a six-story thriller with LED lighting, sound
effects, and a 450-degree hairpin turn into a dark vortex tunnel. At the Kansas
City, Kansas and Kings Island/Mason, Ohio locations, "The
Triple Twist™” ride features a drop into not two, but three
huge funnels at high speeds, dropping a full five stories from start to
finish. And in Grand Mound, Washington, Grapevine, Texas, and
Williamsburg, Virginia., visitors to the resorts there will want to
check out the "River Canyon Run™” family raft ride makeover,
with LED lighting, fog and sound effects adding to the exhilaration of
the ride.
Compass Quest is the Next Generation of Interactive Adventure
The MagiQuest live-action adventure games at Great Wolf Lodge properties
in Grapevine, Kings Island, the Pocono Mountains and
Williamsburg are all going into overdrive with the next level of
play called Compass Quest. Players must first achieve Magi Master status
before they can take on the Compass Quest challenges. Players move
through interactive way-finding expeditions on their way to solving
mysteries and slaying dragons. It’s that combination of video gaming and
role playing that has proved itself so popular with kids and their
parents. In addition, players can now purchase an online MagiQuest
experience to continue the adventure at home. CDs are available for
purchase at all MagiQuest locations, or the game can be downloaded at www.magiquest.com.
Kids Spas Get Fluff and Buff
They’re called Scooops Kid Spas, and the resort in the Pocono
Mountains now features expanded areas for treatments and retail
offerings, along with extra space for birthday parties. These spas were
designed specifically with four to 12-year-olds in mind, and offer ice
cream flavor-inspired spa services.
Kids Rule at Great Wolf with "Great Wolf Kids”
All of the Great Wolf Lodge locations are debuting a new brand aptly
named "Great Wolf Kids,” designed to entertain and enlighten the
youngest guests of the resorts. This summer’s theme for activities at
the Cub Club™ activity centers is the "Picture Perfect
Summer,” with a focus on photography lessons, daily scrapbooking
projects, photo scavenger hunts and waterpark photo bingo.
New themed birthday party packages mean birthdays at Great Wolf Lodge
are more than just cake and ice cream. Kids can select from new party
packages, available at all the resorts that may include a manicure and
pedicure at Scooops Kid Spa, a party in the waterpark, or fun and games
in MagiQuest.
Kids love the Great Wolf family of characters, so much so that a new
critter has been welcomed into the pack. Violet, a wolf who fancies
birthday parties and ice cream, is making her debut this summer. She and
her fellow Great Wolf Kids friends, including Wiley the Wolf, take turns
greeting the littlest visitors each evening after story time in the
lobby.
There’s a second Great Wolf website now as well – this one is for the
kids and it’s loaded with activities, downloadable coloring pages and
even games to play in the car on the way to a Great Wolf Lodge. This
online playground may be found at www.greatwolfkids.com.
