Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), an international communications and
information technology company, has been awarded an Indefinite Delivery,
Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with a potential total value of $38
million to supply military communications and field assistance to
international partners of the U.S. Southern Command. Harris received
$7.7 million in delivery orders in the first quarter of fiscal 2012 to
supply Falcon tactical radios for the program.
The four-year contract, awarded by the U.S. Army Space and Missile
Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command (USASMDC/ARSTRAT), is a
vehicle for Harris to a provide radios, accessories, communication
systems and services to these partners. The contract is part of the U.S.
Government's counter-illicit trafficking program, which focuses on
collaboration and interoperability by providing defense equipment,
training and services.

tactical radios and integrated communication system solutions,” said

The contract covers an expansive sustainment program with certified
Harris trainers and engineers providing operator and maintenance support
throughout the region. It also provides a logistics backbone to support
the inventory of existing Falcon II® radios— such as the
RF-5800H High Frequency and the RF-5800M multiband radios — as well as a
path to upgrade to Falcon III radios such as the RF-7800M multiband and
RF-7800V VHF radios.
