Net, and we have worked diligently to develop a core competency in
serving this population,” said Steven Sell, president, Health Net of
California. "Winning this account demonstrates our ability to offer
health care coverage that meets the specific needs of the student
population, including affordability and access to high quality
physicians and hospitals.”
Health Net replaces Aetna, Inc. as the administrator of Cardinal Care,
Stanford’s comprehensive medical and prescription benefits health plan.
Approximately, 8,000 students are enrolled in Cardinal Care, which
complements services provided on campus at the Vaden Health Center.
New for the 2010-2011 school year, the university will offer a health
plan for the spouses, domestic partners and children of Stanford
students. This plan will be administered by Health Net Life Insurance
Company.
