Horizon Air Offers Sale Fares from San Jose and Sacramento on Direct/Nonstop Flights to Boise and Spokane

Horizon Air is kicking off its new direct and nonstop air service linking San Jose and Sacramento with Spokane starting March 26 with special introductory fares as low as $99 for flights taken through June 10, 2010. At the same time, direct and nonstop flights to Boise are being offered for as low as $79 from Sacramento and $89 from San Jose. Fares between Sacramento and San Jose start as low as $29.

Additionally, Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan members traveling between San Jose, Sacramento and Spokane can earn Double Miles through May 31, 2010.

"Customers asked, and we responded,” said Dan Russo, Horizon vice president of marketing and communications. "Make travel easier between Boise, Spokane, San Jose and Sacramento? Done. Make it more affordable? Done.”

Horizon will operate two daily flights between San Jose and Sacramento to Spokane. One flight will operate nonstop to Spokane and a second will make a brief stop in San Jose or Sacramento. The service to Boise follows a similar pattern. Also, the new service includes two daily roundtrip flights each way between San Jose and Sacramento, facilitating same-day business trips in each direction between the two cities.

All flights will be operated with 76-seat Bombardier Q400s. This high-speed, twin-engine turboprop is one of the most technologically advanced regional aircraft in the world. It's as quiet and comfortable as a jet - thanks to special technology that suppresses noise and vibration, generously sized overhead storage bins, unobstructed under-seat space, and ample headroom (6 feet, 5 inches). The Q400 is also among the most environmentally friendly aircraft today, burning 30 percent to 40 percent less fuel and producing an equally lower amount of emissions (and 10 decibels less noise) than comparable jets.
