Baldwin brings more than 21 years of executive insurance experience in
commercial brokerage, strategic planning, underwriting, market
development and wholesaling. Most recently, Baldwin was senior vice
president and regional managing director of the southwest region for
Wells Fargo Insurance Services. There he was responsible for the
underwriting and brokering of complex commercial and risk management
accounts, including several Fortune 500 and international clients. He
oversaw 13 brokerage offices, annual revenues of more than $75 million,
and 450 team members in seven states. As a result of his efforts, his
team received the prestigious President’s Award for outstanding
financial results in growth and profitability.
Baldwin also served as chief operating officer and divisional managing
director of a Wells Fargo Insurance Services sister company, American E
& S Insurance Brokers, where he developed relationships between Wells
Fargo Insurance offices and other insurance markets.
"Paul brings extensive insurance leadership experience to Huntington,
including sales management, insurance operations, business development,
and client retention,” said Thompson. "Paul has a deep understanding of
the insurance needs of consumers and businesses. He will be a valuable
advocate for our clients, while executing the growth strategies needed
to drive our business.”
Baldwin began his insurance career in 1990 with Universal Underwriters
Group, a Zurich Insurance Company, as a producer, then regional manager,
in Michigan. In those roles, he specialized in automobile dealership
insurance, inventory, finance, warranty and business succession.
Additionally, he consulted with GMAC, Ford Motor Credit, and more than a
dozen state auto dealership associations nationally.
He also served as regional manager of Automobile Dealer Specialty Risk
