Integrated Device Technology, Inc. (IDT®)(NASDAQ:IDTI),
the Analog and Digital Company™ delivering essential mixed-signal
semiconductor solutions, today announced that its second generation,
low-power DDR3 register was selected by Invensas Corporation to validate
their innovative multi-die face-down (xFD™) memory stacking technology
on high-performance Registered Dual Inline Memory Modules (RDIMMs).
IDT’s DDR3 register was selected because it is the fastest in the
industry, enabling speeds up to DDR3-2133 while minimizing register
power consumption and delivering maximum density for next generation
server and storage equipment.
The IDT SSTE32882KA1
DDR3 register regenerates the address, command and clock signals from
the motherboard channel to the module DRAMs, minimizing drift, jitter
and skew of these signals and ensuring the DRAMs operate reliably even
at extreme speeds. It offers active power savings of at least 15%
compared with other registers and supports speeds up to DDR3-2133 across
standard and low voltages. The combination of the Invensas xFD
stacking
technology and IDT’s register was validated by Invensas using dual face
down (DFD) stacked DRAMs in a quad rank RDIMM configuration.
"We are pleased that Invensas has chosen IDT’s next generation DDR3
register for their DFD-based memory modules,” said Rami Sethi, director
of marketing for the Enterprise Computing Division at IDT. "The
explosive growth of cloud-based services continues to drive memory
requirements in the data center and we at IDT are excited to leverage
our superior performance and power consumption into innovative solutions
for this market.”
"The Invensas’s xFD technology enables enterprise server manufacturers
to include more memory at faster speeds,” said Simon McElrea, president,
Invensas Corporation. "The excellent combination of performance and
power was the leading reason behind Invensas’s decision to use IDT’s
DDR3 register for our validation modules.”
As the industry leader for memory interface solutions, IDT’s DDR3
register is an essential building block for advanced memory subsystems
in servers, workstations and communications equipment. To see the device
in action, visit IDT’s booth at the Server
Design Summit on November 29-30.
