INX Inc., (OTC: INXI)
has been contracted to become the single point of contact for Central
New Mexico Community College’s Cisco network.
Central New Mexico Community College (CNM) is the largest
higher-educational institution in the State of New Mexico and is
continuing to grow. With enrollment numbers increasing, so have their
facilities and the demands on their data systems and information
technology. Over the last year, CNM and INX have redesigned
the data network to support the construction of two new data centers.
These new data centers leverage state of the art technologies from
VMware and NetApp to achieve a network capable of dynamically scaling as
network needs increase.
In July, CNM signed a three year INX Business Care Support Contract,
supported by the Cisco Partner Shared Support (PSS) Program, along with
a two year INX managed services contract. Cisco’s new PSS Program allows
INX to act as a single point of contact for any issue pertaining to a
client’s Cisco network. The PSS contract model is the next step in the
evolution of Cisco SMARTnet support. It provides INX the ability
to offer more efficient, responsive, and cost effective support with CNM
and other customers taking advantage of this offering, by eliminating
the need for separate support models from INX and Cisco.
The INX Managed Services agreement enables INX to manage the supporting
technologies within CNM’s data centers to provide a more complete
support offering. As new technologies emerge, the lines between the
network and application services riding the network continue to
blur. INX has the unique ability to support the data center as a
solution that includes network, virtualization and storage. With the
combination of Cisco PSS and INX Managed Services, CNM can be assured
that they have an accredited support staff who will take the lead as
incidents arise and see them through to resolution.
Joe Gieri, CNM’s executive director of Information Technology Services,
said, "We were looking to INX for an innovative approach to an old
problem. Because our network is growing and our internal staff is
occupied with projects and end user support, we needed to further
develop our partnership by utilizing INX to support the data centers as
a whole. With these new contracts in place, our IT staff can focus on
the most important aspect of our business, which is supporting the
students and faculty.”
Gary Derheim, Vice President of Managed Services for INX,
commented, "INX is pleased to provide CNM with a comprehensive offering
that combines maintenance and managed support services. Historically our
clients had to get support on the hardware from the manufacturer and get
problem resolution support from a solution provider like INX. Today we
are able to offer the best of both worlds, quickly assess and resolve
issues without clunky handoffs, and deliver a cohesive, efficient and
cost effective solution to CNM.”
The INX managed services contract is a two year renewal that will
compliment the new three year Cisco PSS contract. These contracts are
worth approximately $1.4 million in services revenue to INX.
