In Response to I-5 Closure, Horizon Air Offering Special $119 Fare for Travel Between Seattle and Portland
Horizon Air is offering a special $119 one-way fare for flights between Seattle and Portland in response to the anticipated closure of Interstate 5 in parts of Southwest Washington.
"We understand a number of people are in a difficult position due to the likely closure of I-5,” said Dan Russo, Horizon’s vice president of marketing and communications. "We wanted to help people get where they need to be by reducing our walk-up fares between Seattle and Portland.”
The $119 one-way fare is nonrefundable. It will be available for booking by 7 p.m. (Pacific Time) on Jan. 7 for travel through Saturday, Jan. 10. To book this fare, contact Horizon Air reservations at 1-800-547-9308 or at horizonair.com.
Horizon operates 25 daily flights each way between Seattle and Portland on weekdays, and 18 flights each way on weekends. Weekday flights operate every half-hour during the higher-demand morning and afternoon commute periods, and every hour during some periods in the middle of the day. All flights are operated with 76-seat Q400 turboprops or 70-seat CRJ-700 jets.
Horizon serves 47 cities throughout Arizona, California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Baja California Sur (Mexico), and British Columbia and Alberta (Canada). Together, Horizon Air and Alaska Airlines serve more than 90 cities and are subsidiaries of Alaska Air Group, Inc. (NYSE:ALK).
* FARE RULES: Not Included in the Fare Shown: U.S. Airport Passenger Facility Charges of $4.50 each way, Federal Segment Tax of $3.60 per segment (take-off and landing) and U.S. Security Fee of $2.50 per enplanement. Other Important Information: Tickets are nonrefundable, but can be changed for a $75 fee when changes are made online at horizonair.com ($100 when changes are made through our reservation call center or ticket counters and $125 when originally booked through a travel agent and changes are made through our reservation call center or ticket counter) and any applicable changes to fare. Seats are limited and may not be available on all flights or all days. All fares, taxes, and fees are subject to change without notice and other restrictions apply. A ticket purchased at a Horizon Air/Alaska Airlines call center or ticket counter will cost $15 more per person than the advertised fare. Passengers may check one bag for free.
