INTERXION HOLDING NV (NYSE:INXN), a leading European provider of
carrier-neutral colocation data centre services announced today, that in
response to customer demand, it will build its sixth data centre (AMS6)
in its Amsterdam campus area. The data centre will provide approximately
4,000 sqm of equipped space with 10 MW of customer available power and
is scheduled to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2012. As of today,
over 50% of the data centre has been sold.
"We are seeing significant demand in Amsterdam for carrier neutral
colocation space, particularly among cloud service providers and digital
media providers,” said David Ruberg, Interxion’s Chief Executive
Officer. "By continuing to expand in this key market, we are
demonstrating our commitment to support our customers' current and
future growth plans."
This data centre’s state-of the-art design is environmentally friendly
and provides high availability. The design includes innovative features
such as aquifer thermal energy storage infrastructure and a highly
efficient power topology to minimize the data centre’s carbon footprint.
The capital expenditures for AMS 6 are expected to total approximately
€60M, which includes the purchase of the site. The Company’s 2011 CAPEX
guidance of €140 to €160 million includes the forecasted 2011 spending
for this new facility.
