Jantzen Swimwear and The International Swimming Hall of Fame Team up to Celebrate Fort Lauderdale’s Centennial Celebration of Swimming and Diving

Jantzen, the iconic swimwear brand with over a hundred years of timeless designs, will be participating in the 100 years of Swimming and Swimwear in Fort Lauderdale exhibition at the International Swimming Hall of Fame, headlining their centennial celebration alongside the City of Fort Lauderdale.

Kicking off Wednesday April 27 at the Official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, the swim brand that coined the term "swimming suit” will showcase a sampling of their iconic pieces throughout the decades in conjunction with the Swimming Hall of Fame’s own historical pieces.

The Grand Opening Event will be held on Thursday May 5, while the exhibit portion of the celebration will run through October 31^st and is free during its first weekend, May 7-8. Jantzen will have various key exhibits showcasing the change in swimwear over the past 100 years. The main display will incorporate archival suits from 1921 to 1980, and a second display paying homage to President Ronald Reagan who wore Jantzen throughout his life. In addition, a third display from the "Where the Boys Are” film will be available for viewing.

Other events include the AT&T/USA Diving Gran Prix, Asian Pacific Heritage Month Cultural Festival, Fran Crippen Safe Swim 10K and 1 mile Dash for Cash, and a Guinness World Record dive attempt into 12” of water by Professor Splash. On Friday

May 6, Jantzen will be the sponsor of the 47^th Annual Honoree Dinner Induction Ceremony at the Broward County Convention Center.

Special guests Governor Scott and Prince Albert will be in attendance as well as some of the world’s most accomplished swimmers, including Australian great, Ian Thorpe. Others to be inducted include swimmers USA’s Lenny Krayzleburg, Australian Petria Thomas and German star Franziska VanAlmsick.
