Jefferies today announced that it has been named one of the World’s Most
Admired Companies by Fortune magazine in the publication’s 2011
ranking of Most Admired Companies.
"We are honored to be named one of the World’s Most Admired Companies by Fortune
magazine,” commented Richard B. Handler, Chairman and Chief Executive
Officer of Jefferies. "Being recognized in this way is a tremendous
accomplishment, and this distinction is a reflection of our focus and
commitment to our clients and shareholders. This award is entirely due
to the hard work, dedication, commitment, competence and passion of our
3,099 employee partners.”
Companies were ranked on a series of attributes, including the ability
to attract and retain talented people, quality of management, social
responsibility to the community and the environment, innovativeness,
quality of products or services, financial soundness, and effectiveness
in doing business globally.
Fortune’s Most Admired Companies study surveys 15,000 top executives and
directors from eligible companies, along with financial analysts, to
identify the companies that enjoy the strongest reputations within their
industries and across industries. Candidates include Fortune 1000 and
Global 500 companies, as well as other major non-U.S. companies.
