Zebra Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ:ZBRA) today announced the
appointment of Jim Kaput as senior vice president, general counsel and
secretary. Effective August 31, as general counsel, Mr. Kaput will lead
activities related to Zebra’s legal affairs and provide advice on a wide
range of legal and operational matters. He reports to Anders Gustafsson,
chief executive officer.
Gustafsson stated, "Jim’s record of accomplishment in corporate work,
government and private practice makes him an excellent addition to the
Zebra management team. We welcome his involvement in the business as we
continue to align our operations to maximize growth and returns for our
stockholders.”
Jim Kaput joins Zebra from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission,
where he was Counsel to the Chairman. In that role, Mr. Kaput was
responsible for matters relating to the Division of Corporation Finance
and the Office of Chief Accountant, including matters related to the
Public Company Accounting Oversight Board. Prior to joining the SEC, Mr.
Kaput was senior vice president and general counsel at The ServiceMaster
Company. In his role as chief legal officer for the Chicago-based
Fortune 500 company, Mr. Kaput oversaw the legal function for multiple
lines of business and advised the board and senior officers on
significant matters. In addition, Mr. Kaput was a partner in Sidley
Austin LLP’s corporate and securities group. Mr. Kaput received his JD
from Cornell University Law School and a BS in Finance from the
University of Pennsylvania.
