Lawson Software (Nasdaq:LWSN) today introduced Lawson Mashup Designer, a
new tool that helps Lawson customers build their own composite
applications from multiple data sources, on-screen views and business
intelligence reports. Lawson Mashup Designer allows individuals to
create their own mini-applications without having to write software code
themselves. Lawson Mashup Designer is currently available for the Lawson
M3 Enterprise Management System and is scheduled to be generally
available for the S3 Enterprise Management System in May 2011. Customers
will access the new tool via their Lawson Smart Office user environment.
Lawson introduced the new offering during the 2011 Lawson Conference and
User Exchange (CUE), which opened today in Boston.
Lawson Mashup Designer allows users to combine data and information from
a wide variety of Lawson and non-Lawson data sources and applications.
By bringing together information into a single user-created application,
Mashup Designer can help simplify a wide range of business processes and
individual tasks. Ultimately, this helps users of Lawson enterprise
applications be more efficient and effective in their specific roles.
Geared primarily for Lawson power users, system administrators or
programmers, Lawson Mashup Designer was created to bring even more power
and versatility to the Lawson Smart Office user environment. It allows
software users to work beyond the constraints and boundaries of a single
form or screen by allowing a mashup of multiple screens, views and
applications. This helps bring greater relevance and context to the
information being accessed and used within Lawson and non-Lawson systems.
"Quite simply, Lawson Mashup Designer is a new way for our customers to
build better applications that they can use every day,” said Matthew
Allbee, product management director for Lawson. "By combining forms,
processflows, data views, reports and business intelligence content into
a single user-created application, we’re now offering a new level of
user customization. But most important, this does not require advanced
programming skills. Instead, people who use Lawson every day can quickly
start to create their own task- or process-specific applications.”
