LexisNexis, a leading global provider of content-enabled workflow
solutions, today announced the launch of the "Get
Connected for a Cause” campaign designed to raise money for The
Smile Train, a nonprofit organization that provides free cleft
surgeries for needy children in the world’s poorest countries. Between
November 16 and December 31, LexisNexis will donate $5 to The Smile
Train for each in-house counsel who joins Martindale-Hubbell®
Connected — the premier global online network for legal
professionals. The company will donate an additional dollar for each
connection made within the online network by any in-house counsel member
during this period. There is no cost to join Martindale-Hubbell
Connected.
"Martindale-Hubbell Connected has grown by leaps and bounds since its
launch earlier this year,” said John Lipsey, vice president, corporate
counsel services at LexisNexis® Martindale-Hubbell®.
"Our goal is to provide the corporate counsel community with an
opportunity to join a valuable professional network designed to meet
their needs and contribute to a great cause this holiday season by
helping us raise money for The Smile Train.”
Martindale-Hubbell Connected is a global online community designed
specifically for the needs of corporate counsel attorneys, law firm
lawyers and other legal professionals that enables them to connect,
network, communicate and collaborate in a trusted and authenticated
environment. Launched in March 2009 with 3,000 members, the network has
grown to more than 22,000 members.
"The ‘Get Connected for a Cause’ campaign will help put smiles on the
faces of poor children around the world born with unrepaired clefts,”
Smile Train Co-Founder and President Brian Mullaney said. "Donations
from LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell can have a tremendous impact as cleft
surgeries cost as little as $250, take as little as 45 minutes to
perform, and change a child’s life forever.”
