Elavon, a wholly owned subsidiary of U.S. Bancorp (NYSE: USB) and a
leading global payments provider, and MICROS Systems, Inc., a leading
provider of information technology solutions for the hospitality and
retail industries, today announced that MICROS’s centrally-hosted Simphony
enterprise point-of-service (POS) solution has been certified to connect
with Fusebox, Elavon’s hosted payment gateway.
The certification provides hospitality organizations with MICROS Simphony’s
POS solution the ability to connect to a variety of payment processors,
eliminating the need to conduct multiple direct-processor
certifications, and simplifying upgrades and enhancements since both Simphony
and Fusebox are hosted in secure data centers.
Additionally, Fusebox creates peace of mind for organizations through
its secure tokenization solution, which replaces actual cardholder data
with unique Token IDs that protect data at rest and stored in POS
systems, allowing some of the costs and complexities related to PCI
Compliance to be mitigated.
"In this era of organizations looking to companies to provide Software
as a Service (SaaS) solutions, we are pleased that MICROS Simphony
users can now connect a hosted POS to a hosted payment gateway,” said
Amy Gutierrez, senior vice president of Enterprise Sales and Account
Management at Elavon. "SaaS alleviates the burden of software
maintenance, ongoing operation, and support, while moving critical
payment processing to a secure data center.”
Designed to meet the evolving needs of businesses, Fusebox addresses
security and risk concerns, connectivity, flexibility and simplicity.
The hosted gateway relocates critical cardholder data to a centrally
managed host, mitigating risk for the merchant, while also supporting
tokenization to further ensure cardholder security. Fusebox provides a
single interface to connect to multiple processors with a consolidated
view for all payments and offers the flexibility to choose payment types
and processing endpoints mapped to unique business needs.
