Regulatory News:
NCC has been commissioned to construct 123 housing units in
Jätkäsaari in southern Helsinki for about SEK 270 million. The client is
the Helsinki Housing Production Department (ATT) and the project will be
registered among orders in the fourth quarter of 2012.
Jätkäsaari is one of the major development areas in the City of Helsinki
to be integrated into the inner city area. By mid-2020, Jätkäsaari is
expected to have 16,000 residents and offer 6,000 workplaces.
"In the precinct that is about to take shape, the partnership between
ATT and NCC will realize a new type of residential construction. Among
the relatively similar housing units, it is also possible to choose a
housing version that does not include a parking space. What this means,
effectively, is that only parking-space users will be responsible for
parking-space costs,” says ATT’s CEO, Sisko Marjamaa.
"Taking part in the construction of an entirely new city district from
scratch is very stimulating. We currently have ten buildings under
construction,” says NCC’s Business Unit Director in NCC Construction
Finland, Matti Aho.
Construction is scheduled for immediate start, and for completion by
September 2014.
Including this new contract, NCC has a total of 750 housing units under
construction for ATT, of which 517 will be located at Jätkäsaari.
The project will be registered among orders in the fourth quarter of
2012 in Business area NCC Construction Finland.
