The partnership, which was unveiled at the NFLPA's Annual SuperBowl Press Conference in Detroit, enables Intersections to offer thecompany's powerful IDENTITY GUARD(R) CREDITPROTECTX3(SM) service freeof charge to NFL players and coaches for one year. After this initialyear, players and coaches will have access to Intersections servicesfor a nominal monthly fee.

The issue of identity theft is a problem impacting every elementof business today. Last year, according to the Federal TradeCommission, direct out-of-pocket losses to consumers resulting fromidentity theft totaled $5 billion. The FTC estimates that as many asone in every eight adults has been victimized by identity thieves inthe past five years. That means almost seven members of every NFL teamcould be impacted by identity theft.

Access to Credit Reports & Specialists
NFLPA members who sign up with Intersections will receive, inaddition to credit reports and scores from all three credit bureaus,daily credit monitoring, $20,000 identity theft insurance, access toIntersections' industry leading Identity Theft Recovery Unit as wellas Credit Education Specialists who can help players understand andinterpret their credit data.
CREDITPROTECTX3 provides both proactive and reactive solutionsthat will enable NFLPA members to protect themselves against lossesassociated with identity theft by monitoring their credit files fromall three major credit bureaus - Equifax(R), Experian(R) andTransUnion(TM) - and alerting them of certain suspicious activities.Intersections is the first company to provide continuous monitoringfrom all three agencies.
According to Intersections, 10 million Americans in the past yearhave been victimized by some form of identity theft or fraud. Thisoften translates into billions of dollars in costs and unforeseenhours to resolve the problem.
