Nash-Finch Company (NASDAQ: NAFC), a leading national food distributor,
today announced the promotion of Christopher A. Brown to President and
Chief Operating Officer of Nash Finch Wholesale. Mr. Brown will remain
an Executive Vice President of Nash Finch Company and continue to report
to Alec C. Covington, President and Chief Executive Officer of Nash
Finch.
In this newly created role, Mr. Brown is responsible for all aspects of
the Company’s wholesale business as well as the conventional
corporate-owned stores. In a related move, Dan M. Davidson has been
promoted to Vice President, Distribution, reporting to Mr. Brown. In his
new role, Mr. Davidson will oversee food distribution warehouse
operations and transportation in order to ensure excellence in customer
service and efficiency. Mr. Davidson previously served as Vice President
of Transportation and Logistics in the Company’s supply chain department.

Mr. Brown rejoined Nash Finch Company in November of 2006 as Executive
Vice President, Food Distribution. Previously, Mr. Brown served as Chief
Executive Officer of SimonDelivers, Inc. Prior to joining SimonDelivers,
Mr. Brown was the Executive Vice President, Merchandising at Nash Finch
from 1999-2003 where he was responsible for all merchandising,
procurement, marketing, category management and advertising. During the
eight years prior, he held various management positions of increasing
responsibilities at Richfood Holdings, Inc. Mr. Brown holds a bachelor’s
of science degree in business administration from Winona State
University.
