distributor, today announced the promotion of Kathleen M. Mahoney to
Executive Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary. Previously, she
served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary.
In making the announcement, Nash Finch CEO Alec Covington recognized
Mahoney’s impact on the organization. "Kathy has proven not only to be a
brilliant legal mind, but also a critical business partner and has
played a significant role in the development and implementation of our
strategic plan over the last several years,” Covington commented. "Her
extensive legal background and consistent track record of contributions
at Nash Finch have been invaluable.”
Kathy joined the Company in 2004 as Vice President, Deputy General
Counsel. Prior to working at Nash Finch, Kathy was the Managing Partner
in the St. Paul Office of Larson King, LLP. She also spent 13 years with
the law firm of Oppenheimer, Wolff & Donnelly, LLP. Kathy also worked as
Special Assistant Attorney General in the Minnesota Attorney General's
Office for six years. Kathy earned her JD degree from Syracuse
University College of Law, cum laude, and a BA from Keene State College.
She is a member of the American Bar Association and the Minnesota State,
Wisconsin State and Ramsey County Bar Associations.
