Sodexo (Paris:SW) (OTCBB:SDXAY)announced today that it has signed an
agreement to acquire the French company Lenôtre from Accor. The
transaction remains subject to approval from the competition authorities.
Sodexo views the acquisition as a unique opportunity to develop its
portfolio of Prestige activities in France and internationally.
The Lenôtre brand symbolizes the elegance and rigor of French luxury,
embodied by its upscale gastronomy business which includes boutiques,
receptions and events, as well as its three-star restaurant, Le
Pré-Catelan. Lenôtre is a member of the prestigious French luxury
association, the "Comité Colbert”.
Sodexo will preserve the internationally recognized brand and expertise
of Lenôtre and invest in their development.
Lenôtre and the professionalism of its teams are well-known to Sodexo,
particularly in the markets in which both companies are present. With
this acquisition, Sodexo also seeks to further develop its expertise in
luxury gastronomy in order to enhance its offering to its clients.
Patrick Scicard, Chairman of Lenôtre’s Management Board since 1995, will
continue to manage the company, working with his existing team.
