Sumitomo Electric Completed the Second DPoE(TM) 1.0 Interoperability Event

Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. (TOKYO:5802) (ISIN:JP3407400005) and Sumitomo Electric Networks, Inc., today announced that the companies participated in the second interoperability event for DOCSIS® Provisioning of EPON (DPoE^TM) v1.0 specifications hosted by CableLabs® in Louisville, Colorado, with other DPoE suppliers on April 11th through 15th.

Following the first interoperability event in January 2011, Sumitomo has proved the achievement of implementation of DPoE functionalities in Sumitomo's EPON equipment at this second interoperability event.

Sumitomo is committed to the continued success and progress of DPoE standardization activities and looks forward to participating in DPoE interoperability events in the future. Sumitomo plans to release a DPoE-capable system this year.
