Tessera Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:TSRA) announced today that the
government of China has named Tessera’s Executive Vice President and
Chief Technology Officer, Robert Yung, as one of its Top 60 World
Chinese. As part of this honor, Yung will appear on a special-edition Chinese
postal stamp designed and circulated by the People’s Republic
of China’s Postal Ministry.
The Top 60 World Chinese award celebrates China’s 60th anniversary,
honoring Chinese around the world who have made substantial
contributions in their field and advanced China’s cultural and economic
growth. Yung is a leading advocate for Chinese-American relations, and
was named to the National Committee of U.S.-China Relations Fellows
during the inaugural Young Leader Forum in 2002. In 2000, he was also
named to the World Economic Forum's ‘Top 100 Global Leaders for
Tomorrow’ in Davos, Switzerland.
At Tessera, Yung is responsible for the company’s vision for innovation
of miniaturization technologies for wireless, consumer and computing
electronic devices. He earned his B.A., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in
electrical engineering and computer science from UC Berkeley. He is a
named inventor on more than 70 issued patents and more than 20 pending
patent applications.
