Unify’s Team Developer 6.0 Speeds the Building and Deployment of Microsoft .NET Applications

Unify, (NASDAQ:UNFY) today unveiled Team Developer 6.0, the next generation of its rapid application development product. This major release delivers breakthrough speed and efficiencies in development productivity and performance, deployment to the Microsoft .NET framework, and building hosted applications in the cloud.

Team Developer 6.0 addresses the complexities of delivering enterprise applications on the .NET platform with the unique delivery of easy, powerful and open capabilities. Team Developer 6.0 offers data-aware controls, built-in reporting, and advanced deployment capabilities to enable organizations to quickly deliver .NET infrastructure applications or business applications that drive new initiatives or respond to competitive and market changes.

The new architecture in Team Developer 6.0 delivers more productivity and streamlined visual programming, resulting in .NET applications that are built in less time with easy to change reusable components. When deploying an application built in Team Developer 6.0, the simple toggle of a radio control button will change the deployment platform from Win32 to .NET desktop to a browser without any changes to the application’s source code. Other development tools, IDEs and programming languages require extensive recoding in order to change the deployment environment.

Transitioning existing Team Developer application code to the .NET platform is straightforward and allows customers to leverage their existing Win32 code with a direct path to the .NET framework without the cost, risks and complexities of migration or re-writing. The resulting applications can interoperate with any .NET application or service and can call business logic that has been written in VB.NET or C# or vice versa. Even the most complex Team Developer applications utilizing ActiveX or COM controls or interfaces are seamlessly supported within the new .NET applications.
