Comcast’s Xfinity TV announced the winners of the 2011 Xfinity On
Demand Awards, which honor the movies, TV series, kids series and
musical artists that customers watched most on the service during the
course of the year. The overall most-viewed award winners for 2011 are: Bridesmaids,
Tosh.0, SpongeBob SquarePants and Beyoncé. In addition, 2011
marked significant growth on the service with a 10 percent increase in
views on Xfinity On Demand year-over-year and a surge in average views
per month from 350 million to 400 million, making 2011 the year with the
most views in the service’s history.

"Over the years we have seen the appetite for on-demand programming
rapidly increase, in fact, 2011 marked the fastest growth we have seen
on our service in the past several years,” said Maggie McLean Suniewick,
Vice President, Video Services, Comcast. "With nearly five billion views
on Xfinity On Demand last year alone, these award winners truly
represent which entertainment choices pop culture is embracing, and we
congratulate the winners as true standouts in their genres.”
In addition to the overall most-viewed winners, the 2011 Xfinity On
Demand Awards recognize the top-performers in specific categories
including most-viewed new release movies by genre: action, comedy,
drama, horror, indie and kids/family; the most-viewed TV series by
genre: comedy, drama, reality and kids; and the most-viewed musical
artists by genre: country, hip-hop, pop, R&B and rock (click here
