Zebra Technologies Announces Immediate Global Availability of Fastest Ever ZXP Series 8™ Secure Issuance Printer

Zebra Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ:ZBRA), a global leader in specialty printing and automatic identification solutions, announced the worldwide availability of the ZXP Series 8™ Secure Issuance printer this week at the CARTES & IDentification Expo (Booth Hall 3, E112). This printer addresses industry requirements for on-demand printing of bank credit, debit and ATM cards. Zebra’s Instant Issuance printer highlights the importance of secure printing, encoding and issuance of financial cards around the globe.

Secure Printing Options

Zebra’s ZXP Series 8 Secure Issuance printer, in conjunction with leading application providers, is capable of printing fully activated debit, credit and ATM cards on flat, non-embossed cards. This can be done onsite at the financial institution for instantaneous, on-the-spot issuance, saving customers the wait time generally associated with receiving a new card. The ZXP Instant Issuance printer allows banks, retailers and higher education institutions to print financial cards on-demand at remote locations.

Leveraging the technology of the award-winning ZXP Series 8 retransfer card printer, the Secure Issuance version of this printer features a locking mechanism to protect it from unauthorised access, obstructed view of the input and output hoppers, and an encryption system to protect all sensitive cardholder data during network transmission. It also meets industry security specifications for smart card encoding with EMV Level 1 certification, which tests for compliance with the electromechanical characteristics, logical interface and transmission protocol requirements defined in the EMVCo Standards.
