Zebra Technologies Corporation (Nasdaq: ZBRA), a global leader in
specialty printing and automatic identification solutions, today
announced the support of two leading card design software applications:
ScreenCheck’s Badgemaker and Card Coach software as well as NFive’s
CardFive Vision on its new ZXP Series 8 retransfer card printer. Both
applications can be seen at the Zebra Booth #813 at the ASIS Expo,
September 21-23. The Zebra ZXP Series 8 produces photo-quality cards at
nearly twice the speed of other retransfer printers currently on the
market and operates easily with both applications.
Both ScreenCheck and NFive software are leaders in software for card
design, printing and encoding having been implemented in thousands of
organizations worldwide. ScreenCheck’s software support of the Zebra ZXP
Series 8 printers will be available immediately. NFive’s CardFive Vision
support of Zebra ZXP Series 8 printer will be available in CardFive
Vision 8.6 on September 22, 2009.
"Zebra understands that enabling a full suite of software applications
on our new retransfer printer is critical for our customers while
important to our reseller partners to open up new markets and
opportunities,” said Mark Zucherman, product manager for Zebra
Technologies. "Complete support for CardFive and BadgeMaker applications
is an important first step in ensuring that Zebra meets this need. We
look forward to announcing compatibility with additional card design
software applications and other application software for the ZXP Series
8 in the near future.”
In conjunction with the Zebra ZXP Series 8 printer, Zebra has announced
ZMotif, an XML-based software development kit (SDK) designed to
significantly improve the speed and ease of third party application
integration and support for a broad array of new features and
functionalities. These features include industry standard PC/SC
encoding, and laminating options for printing true secure tamper proof
ID cards.
"With ZMotif and the new SDK from Zebra, we are quickly able to
integrate CardFive with the ZXP Series 8 printer and demonstrate
printing speeds never before seen in this class of card printer,” said
NFive Chief Executive Officer Vitor Marques, "This printer is a huge
competitive advancement in the industry and opens many new markets and
applications in card printing.”
"PC/SC encoding features are especially important to ScreenCheck by
allowing us to seamlessly move our encoding features over to the ZXP
with little effort,” said Roger Berk, president, ScreenCheck
International. "We are very excited about the photo-realistic print
quality and overall throughput performance Zebra has been able to
achieve.”
Available everywhere, the Zebra ZXP Series 8 retransfer printer will be
sold through Zebra’s global network of channel partners. NFive products,
including CardFive Vision software are available globally and in North
