ARCADIS (EURONEXT: ARCAD), an international consulting and engineering
company, is the top-ranked international design firm in the U.S. region,
according to a recent survey conducted by Engineering News-Record magazine.
Headquartered in Arnhem, The Netherlands, with U.S. operations based in
Denver, Colo., ARCADIS generated $1.553 billion in international revenue
in 2007, the ENR survey noted. That figure was 75 percent of the
company’s total revenue in 2007. (ENR ranks companies according
to revenue for design services performed on projects outside the firm’s
home country.)
"This No. 1 ranking epitomizes the global reach of ARCADIS, especially
in the U.S. region,” said Steve Blake, president and CEO of ARCADIS’
U.S. operations. "More and more international clients are relying on
ARCADIS’ experience, design creativity and engineering know-how to meet
their project’s goals and objectives.”
While ARCADIS ranked No. 1 in the U.S. market, the company also made its
mark in other regions. For example, ARCADIS is No. 2 in the Latin
America/Caribbean region and No. 6 in Europe, according to the ENR
survey.
Meanwhile, ARCADIS continued to demonstrate its global presence in a
variety of markets. Forty-five percent of the company’s 2007
international revenue came from the hazardous waste market, while 17 and
15 percent came from the general building and transportation markets,
respectively. Other international revenue was attributed to water supply
(9 percent), industrial process/petroleum (6 percent), manufacturing (5
percent) and power (3 percent).
ARCADIS is an international company providing consultancy, engineering
and management services in infrastructure, environment and buildings, to
enhance mobility, sustainability and quality of life. ARCADIS develops,
designs, implements, maintains and operates projects for companies and
governments. With more than 13,500 employees and more than $2 billion in

is supported by strong local market positions.
