CHICAGO (MarketWatch) -- The giant insurance broker
Aon is moving its headquarters from Chicago to London yet reportedly will add 750 jobs in Chicago. It also reportedly anticipates adding 1,000 jobs this year at other U.S. sites. The Associated Press reported that Chicago will remain the base of Aon's Americas region. Formerly known as the Standard Oil Building and the Amoco Building, the 83-story Aon Tower, currently the 61,000-employee company's global headquarters, is the third-tallest building in Chicago and 21st tallest globally. Luring or retaining the headquarters of such companies as Sara Lee, CME Group and UAL has been a centerpiece of Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel's first year in office.
