"We are very excited to open our newest BJ’s
restaurant in Modesto,” commented Jerry
Deitchle, Chairman and CEO. "Our opening day
sales were very solid, and we look forward to our Modesto restaurant
joining the ranks of BJ’s other high volume
restaurants in California’s Central Valley.” "Our development, supply chain and operations
teams have done an outstanding job in successfully opening five new BJ’s
restaurants during the last four weeks,” said
Deitchle. "This is a strong testament to the
strength and capacity of our operational and support infrastructure to
successfully execute our expansion plan. The Modesto restaurant
represents our 11th opening so far during 2008
and our fifth opening in the current quarter. We currently remain on
track to open as many as four additional restaurants before the end of
the year and thereby achieve our stated goal to increase our operating
weeks by 20% to 25% for the full year.”
