DivX, Inc. (NASDAQ:DIVX) today announced its placement as the fifth
fastest growing technology company in the San Diego region according to
Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50, a program
dedicated to acknowledging the rising success of highly innovative and
accomplished technology companies. DivX was recognized during a ceremony
held at The Grand Del Mar earlier this month.
The Technology Fast 50 Program for San Diego is a ranking of the 50
fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications, and life sciences
companies in the area by Deloitte & Touche USA LLP, one of the nation’s
leading professional services organizations. Rankings are based on the
percentage revenue growth over five years from 2002–2006.
To qualify for the recognition, companies must own proprietary
intellectual property or proprietary technology that contributes to a
significant portion of their operating revenues. Companies from the 16
regional Technology Fast 50 programs in the United States and Canada are
automatically entered in Deloitte’s Technology
Fast 500 program, which ranks North America’s
top 500 fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications and life
sciences companies, the results of which will be announced soon.
"Deloitte’s San
Diego Technology Fast 50 companies have shown the strength, vision and
tenacity to succeed in today’s very
competitive technology environment,” said
Theresa Drew, Managing Partner, San Diego Practice, Deloitte & Touche
LLP. "We applaud the successes of DivX and
acknowledge it as one of the very few to accomplish such a fast growth
rate over the past five years.” "We are honored to accept an award that
highlights DivX’s exceptional growth,”
said Kevin Hell, Acting CEO of DivX, Inc. "From
our earliest days as a small startup, DivX employees have dedicated
themselves to understanding consumer needs and improving the experience
of digital media. This focus on the individual user has led to
unprecedented adoption in hardware, software, and content distribution.
We look forward to continuing our growth trajectory and working closely
with our global partners to become the common denominator for digital
media.”
DivX works with content, software, and consumer electronics partners to
build a common media language that establishes true convergence. As a
company focused on improving the consumer’s
multimedia experience through a high-quality ecosystem, this award
emphasizes the increasing technological influence and awareness of DivX,
Inc. as it continues to expand product offerings worldwide.

About DivX, Inc.
DivX creates products and services designed to improve the experience of
media. Our first product offering was a video compression-decompression
software library, or codec, which has been actively sought out and
downloaded over 240 million times since January 2003, including over 80
million times during the last twelve months. We have since built on the
success of our codec with other consumer software, including the DivX®
Player application, which is distributed from our website, www.divx.com.
We also license our technologies to consumer hardware device
manufacturers and certify their products to ensure the interoperable
support of DivX-encoded content. In addition to technology licensing to
consumer hardware device manufacturers, we currently generate revenue
from software licensing, advertising and content distribution.
