At the Digital Label Summit in Barcelona, Spain, March 24th and 25th,
Dr. Ken Stack of EFI (NASDAQ: EFII) spoke on two of the conference's
program sessions. Dr. Stack, who is the general manager and the senior
vice president of EFI's Jetrion Industrial Inkjet Systems, participated
in the "Inkjet Workshop: Making sense of the explosion of inkjet
technology" as well as the "Making digital printing an
active tool for brand protection" panel discussion. Due to his
extensive expertise in digital printing, Dr. Stack is frequently asked
to present at key industry conferences and summits.
The discussions and workshop presented unique learning opportunities for
self-adhesive, wet-glue and shrink and wrap-around label converters,
flexible packaging converters, folding carton converters, general
printers, label designers as well as brand owners. Subjects covered
included inkjet technology options, speed enhancements, resolution,
substrate capabilities and future inkjet prospects. Additionally,
strategies for digital printing technology solutions in brand protection
and anti-counterfeiting were discussed. Both topics are increasingly
important for label and packaging converters, especially those that
serve markets such as wine and spirits, food and beverage, health and
beauty and pharmaceutical/nutriceutical.
While at the Digital Label Summit, EFI presented detailed information
about the Jetrion line of products. The Jetrion 4000 UV Inkjet System
combines EFI's core strengths of workflow, RIP technology, ink
development and machine manufacturing into a single stand-alone
narrow-web digital press aimed specifically at the label market. It is
particularly suited for those with short runs, or requiring versioning
or variable data.
"In today's tough economic climate, it is increasingly important that
label providers find ways to become more competitive, efficient and
profitable. EFI is leading the digital print technology race and with
its award-winning Jetrion 4000 and can help label and packaging
providers accomplish all three," said Dr. Stack. Adding, "This inaugural
Digital Label Summit offered an opportunity to showcase our Jetrion
portfolio, which is designed around the latest technology innovations to
make our customers successful now and in the future."
