Electronic Arts on Friday said that it has filed a lawsuit on behalf of its Maxis Label against
Zynga for allegedly infringing its copyrights to a Facebook game called the "Sims Social." The complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California claims Zynga's recently released Facebook game "The Ville" willfully and intentionally "copied and misappropriated the original and distinctive expressive elements of the Sims Social in a violation of U.S. copyright laws."In an accompanying statement, EA said that "today, we hope to be taking a stand that helps the industry protect the value of original creative works and those that work tirelessly to create them."Market Pulse Stories are Rapid-fire, short news bursts on stocks and markets as they move.
