MADRID (MarketWatch) -- European stock markets rose on Friday, with banks and miners taking the lead as gains from the prior session linked to upbeat U.S. economic news carried over. The Stoxx Europe 600 index rose 0.3% to 235.49, while the German DAX 30 index rose 0.2% to 5,735.25. The French CAC 40 index was flat at 2,996.3. The FTSE 100 index rose 0.3% to 5,417.36.
