Fluor Corporation (NYSE: FLR) announced today that it was once again
named as one of G.I. Jobs’ Top 50 Most Military Friendly
Employers in the United States. On the 2008 list, Fluor ranked number 15
among the Top 50. This is the third straight year that Fluor has been
named to G.I. Jobs’ Top 50 List.
"We feel fortunate that so many veterans and former military want to
join our company across all of our business groups,” said Bob Jones,
senior vice president in Fluor’s Government Group. "While a considerable
number of our staff support the military through our LOGCAP and other
Department of Defense-related contracts, we also have a significant
amount of former military members that work on dozens of projects in our
other business groups.”
"This isn’t about charity or patriotism. It’s about good business. The
companies on our list truly understand the value that former members of
the military bring to the corporate world,” said Rich McCormack,
publisher of G.I. Jobs magazine.
"Being named to G.I. Jobs Top 50 List is a real honor for Fluor.
We find that the knowledge base, diversity of experience and dedication
to the job make candidates with military backgrounds an invaluable
resource to Fluor and our clients,” said Bill Hardaway, vice president
of human resources for Fluor’s Global Services business group and a U.S.
Air Force veteran.
G.I. Jobs’ list, drawn from a pool of an approximately 2,500
companies (with a minimum of $1 billion annual revenues), was created
based on company criteria including: assets dedicated to military
hiring; Reserve/National Guard policies; percentage of veteran new
hires; veteran training programs; and previous three years rankings on
the Top 50 list.
