Horizon Air and Red Lion Hotels have teamed up to offer $100 toward a
stay at a Red Lion Hotel after passengers fly Horizon between Portland
and the San Francisco Bay Area (Oakland, San Jose or San Francisco) or
Sacramento between May 17 and Aug. 16, 2009.
"This is just one of many upgrades and enhancements Horizon is adding to
its service on these routes, which will grow to 19 flights daily each
way starting May 17,” said Dan Russo, Horizon’s vice president of
marketing and communications. "We want to make Horizon the first choice
for customers traveling to or from Portland.”
Specifics of Red Lion Hotels offer
The Red Lion Hotels offer not only benefits Horizon customers, but also
their four-legged friends. Here’s how it works (more details are

Onboard all Horizon flights between Portland and the Bay
Area/Sacramento, flight attendants will distribute coupons valid for
purchase of Red Lion’s signature plush toy -- Red, the Lion -- for $5
plus shipping and handling and applicable sales tax. Red Lion will
donate $2 from every purchase to the American Society for the Prevention
of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) and another portion to support local
shelters in the communities they serve.
Along with Red, the Lion, customers will get a $100 Red Lion Hotels Stay
Certificate, which can be used toward their next stay at any
participating Red Lion Hotel, including room rate, food and other
eligible hotel services charged to their room. The Stay Certificate must
be booked on www.redlion.com
for stays through December 30, 2009.
In addition, at the time of purchase, customers can choose to have their
Red, the Lion, donated to Shriners Hospital for Children in Portland or
the Bay Area/Sacramento, where it will be given to a child undergoing
treatment.

Horizon’s set gates / enhanced onboard service
All of Horizon’s Bay Area/Sacramento flights will depart Portland from
gates A9-A12, where in the morning travelers will enjoy Starbucks coffee
and copies of the Wall Street Journal prior to boarding their
flight.
Onboard, Horizon is sweetening its inflight service between Portland and
the Bay Area/Sacramento. In addition to Starbucks coffee, Jones Pure
Cane Soda, and Northwest wines and microbrews at no extra charge, snack
service will be increased to include a Ghirardelli chocolate or a
similar treat along with the usual morning or afternoon beverage snack.

Double Miles, plus preferred boarding for MVP Golds
All members of the Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan can earn Double Miles on
Horizon flights between Portland and the Bay Area/Sacramento from May 17
to July 31, 2009. Prior registration is required before taking the first
