Implant Sciences Corporation (AMEX: IMX), a high technology
supplier of systems and sensors for the homeland security market and
related industries, today announced multiple orders totaling
approximately $2.7 million for its Quantum SnifferTM
QS-H150 portable explosives detection systems to be delivered to
customers of Beijing Ritchie’s Time Co., Ltd.,
one of the Company’s distributors in China.
The QS-H150’s are expected to be deployed
primarily for use in transportation and facility security applications
in multiple locations throughout China.
Richard Meyerhoff, Implant Sciences’ Vice
President of Worldwide Sales and Service, commented, "We
are excited about our continuing expansion in the explosives trace
detection (ETD) market in China. Our QS-H150 product line was developed
to provide customers portable technology for the detection of a wide
range of explosives materials within challenging operating environments.
We believe these orders continue to demonstrate the growing demand for
our ETD equipment and underscore our ongoing progress toward attaining a
leadership position within the global market.”
The QS-H150 provides high performance and reliability combined with a
very low cost of ownership. Annual maintenance costs are minimal and
consist primarily of normal care and cleaning using common supplies.
Unlike some competitive units, calibration is autonomous, continuous,
and requires no consumables. Since there are no radioactive materials
used in the QS-H150, there are no associated certifications, licenses,
inspections, or end-of-life disposal issues. As such, customers have an
outstanding, cost effective product available to them in support of
efforts to improve their overall security profile and meet mission
critical objectives.
