Legends from the Worlds of Screen, Stage and Sport to Attend BGC Charity Day on Tuesday, September 11

Celebrities Including: WHOOPI GOLDBERG; ELI WALLACH; YOGI
BERRA; BOOMER ESIASON and Cast Members from THE SOPRANOS
will be joining leading international inter-dealer broker BGC for its 3rd
annual Charity Day on Tuesday, September 11th
at its downtown trading floor:
One Seaport Plaza, 19th Floor 199 Water Street, New York, NY 10038
Celebrity guests will join BGC’s brokers
conducting real, live trades with our clients. 100% of the commissions
raised in our global offices on the day will go to charities, including:
Blythedale Children’s Hospital; Books for Kids
Foundation; Cancer Research Institute; NARSAD Mental Health Research;
Project FIND, providing aid to the elderly in New York City and the
Wounded Warrior Project.
First on the trading floor will be former New York Jets’ FREEMAN MCNEIL at 9am, closely followed by baseball legend YOGI
BERRA, trading with BGC clients from 10am. At approximately 11am we
are proud to welcome HARRIET HARRIS of Desperate Housewives and
Frasier fame.
At around noon, TONY SIRICO of The Sopranos will come to
show his support for the Wounded Warrior Project, of which he is an
ambassador. We will also be privileged with the presence of several of
the brave service men and women supported by the charity.
At approximately 1pm, we’re delighted that WHOOPI
GOLDBERG will be with us, fresh from her first week at The View,
to support our fundraising efforts as will ELI WALLACH –
star of such films as The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, The Magnificent
Seven and The Misfits.
During the afternoon, other celebrities will continue to assist with
trades at the BGC offices and raise money for these very worthy causes.
These include ROBERT FUNARO of The Sopranos. From the
sporting world: the former New York Jet and WFAN’s
newest presenter BOOMER ESIASON; ROY WHITE, formerly
of the NY Yankees; former NY Mets’ ED
KRANEPOOL and former NY Knicks’ EARL ‘THE
PEARL’ MONROE along with NY Giants’
lineman GREY RUEGAMER and the New York Red Bulls’ JOE VIDE.
Members of the media are invited to attend at any time during the day.
Facilities for television, radio and print journalists to cover these
events will be available in the BGC offices on the 19th
floor, including internet access and ISDN phone lines.

In the PARIS office, BGC brokers will be joined by: Stéphane
Pasquier, winner of numerous Group races including the Prix de l’Arc
de Triomphe; ATP Top 20 tennis player Paul-Henri Mathieu and Julien
Benneteau who reached the semi-finals of the men’s
doubles at this year’s US Open.
Charities supported by BGC’s offices in Asia,
Australasia and Europe include: The Shane Warne Foundation, National
Breast Cancer Foundation, Children’s Cancer
Foundation, La Licorne and The Solidarity Fund (established to help
victims of the fires in Greece)
