Macrovision Solutions Corporation (NASDAQ:MVSN), a digital entertainment
technology leader, announced today an agreement with Megacable
Comunicaciones, the largest MSO in Mexico with 1.5 million subscribers
in 53 major cities. The agreement includes Megacable’s use of Passport
Echo, Macrovision’s cable IPG, and Macrovision’s television listing
data. The deployment covers Megacable’s Motorola systems.
On the new system, Megacable’s subscribers will also have access to the
ShowRunner Video on Demand (VOD) application, a fully integrated on
demand feature that provides a more intuitive and simple consumer
experience for accessing VOD content and iSubscribe, an application that
allows viewers to use their remotes to instantly order service packages.
The Passport Echo IPG features access to high resolution graphics, an
intuitive interface design and optional rich video controls for
searching for shows by title or keywords and scheduling recordings. Its
Remote Wizard application teaches viewers how to program their multi
function remote controls to operate other devices such as a TV or VCR.
This agreement continues Macrovision’s expansion into the Latin American
market, complimenting several other previously announced customer wins.

demonstrates that MSOs are seeking market leading solutions to provide
their subscribers the best user experience and highest possible
satisfaction.
"After a careful evaluation we are pleased to have selected
Macrovision’s Passport IPG solution and its listings data to enhance our
services,” said Raymundo Fernandez, CEO Megacable. ”Macrovision’s
innovative solutions, customer service and commitment to the Mexico
market were key factors in making our selection.”
"Megacable is a well respected MSO and we are pleased they identified
the unique value Macrovision’s IPG solutions provide for their
customers,” said Bob Shallow, senior vice president, worldwide sales,
service providers, Macrovision. "We look forward to continuing to work
with them on the implementation and deployments.”
