Maxim Selects Teradyne’s New DC80 for Automotive Sensor Test

Teradyne, Inc. (NYSE:TER) announced that Maxim Integrated Products has selected the microFLEX™ test system with its new DC80 instrumentation to test automotive sensor devices. The DC80, the highest density voltage/current (V/I) option for high voltage and low current requirements, reduces overall cost of test for integrated automotive and power devices, including LED drivers, printer drivers and automotive controllers. It is available on the FLEX® and microFLEX test systems.

Driven by improvements in power efficiency combined with increased requirements for high density, high voltage and low current requirements, the DC80 combines 20 four quadrant VI channels able to achieve 80 volts and 50 mA. It also contains two time measurement units with 40 Mhz bandwidth and 500 pS accuracy which allow for reduced DIB and test program complexity, thereby reducing time to production release. The DC80 also improves test execution and throughput with three low current ranges between 200 uA and 200 mA to minimize current switching and Direct Memory Access (DMA) to accelerate large block data transfers.
