Ricoh Americas Corporation, the leading provider of digital office
equipment, and EFI™ (Nasdaq:EFII), the world leader in customer-focused
digital printing innovation, today launched two EFI Fiery® controllers
for the recently launched Ricoh Aficio mid-range digital color
multifunction products (MFPs) designed for the office environment. The
Fiery controllers deliver exceptional color, automated, visual
workflows, and impressive speed to increase return on equipment
investment for Ricoh customers.
The Fiery-based E-5100 controller supports the Aficio MP C4000 and MP
C5000, and the E-3100 controller supports the Aficio MP C2800 and MP
C3300.
"These new Fiery controllers, together with the latest Ricoh Aficio
color MFPs, deliver consistent, predictable color output and improve
office productivity with automated workflows that allow even the most
inexperienced users to create complex jobs or booklets,”
said Ron
Potesky, senior vice president, corporate communications,
product/solutions & channel marketing, Ricoh Americas Corporation.
"The Fiery ensures significantly improved productivity and cost
effectiveness with its unmatched speed and easy-to-use visual workflows
that allow anyone to create professional looking documents with only a
few clicks,” said John Henze, vice president of marketing, Fiery
Division, EFI. "These tools take the pain and time out of creating
eye-catching office documents.”
To deliver exceptional color, the controllers rely on Fiery ColorWise®,
an in-RIP color management system that provides great out-of-the-box
color and offers users the ability to fine tune color. The optional
Spot-On® module simplifies the production of accurate corporate colors
and eliminates color rework. The Fierys built-in, wizard-based visual
workflows shorten prep time and lead to greater productivity. Also, the
RIP-while- Print® technology allows one page to be printed while
subsequent pages are being processed, enabling more pages to be printed
per hour.
In addition to Fiery Scan, the E-5100 and E-3100 support Ricoh’s
embedded scanning functionality, giving users even more flexibility in
how they digitize hard-copy documents and share information across the
room, or across the globe.
On the security front, Fiery technology offers industry-standard
protocols and easy management of MFPs. Secure Erase, user
authentication, access control and automatic updates are built-in to
these new Fiery controllers. Web tools facilitate centralized access to
key applications and utilities to increase productivity and reduce
downtime.
